The Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize is open to all emerging, mid-career and established drawing practitioners from the UK and internationally.
Up to three drawings may be entered by each applicant for consideration by the Selection Panel.
We do not specify what media drawings are made in or what constitutes a drawing, as the open exhibition is open to dialogue about the nature of contemporary drawing practice. Works are selected on the basis of their merit as drawings by the Selection Panel who see all of the works submitted without the names of their makers or other details. The decisions of the Selection Panel are final and binding.
Entrants are asked to carefully read the Rules & Guidelines and will be asked to confirm acceptance of these during the online registration process. Please note the final selection is not made from digital images.
Stage 1: Entries are to be registered online by 5pm on 17 June 2021. You will be asked to upload an image of each drawing that you are entering to the entry portal at this stage. Entrants will be notified by 5pm on 25 June 2021 of the outcome of their submission.
Stage 2: If your drawings are selected for Stage 2 of the selection process you will need to make arrangements to deliver your work to one of our Collection Centres in the UK.
Please note that ALL entrants are responsible for the delivery of their work to their designated Collection Centre and for the return of their work from the Collection Centre if not selected.
International entrants: If you are entering drawings from outside of the UK and your work is longlisted, you will be contacted by the Project Manager and advised on how to ship your work in time for the final selection process.
Applicants may submit up to three drawings in total. Entry fees are listed below.
Standard Entry: 1 drawing = £20; 2 drawings = £30; 3 drawings = £40
Student Entry: 1 drawing = £15; 2 drawings = £20; 3 drawings = £25
STAGE 1: ONLINE REGISTRATION & ENTRY PROCESS
Please complete online registration for the works you wish to submit. Online registration closes at 5pm on Thursday 17 June 2021.
Please ensure that you have uploaded the images of your drawings, and the required details of these works, on the entry portal by 5pm on Thursday 17 June 2021. After this point you will not be able to make any changes.
Applicants wishing to submit moving images please insert the URL to view your entries and any password if required. Entrants are required to submit films without their names included in any credits on the film at this stage, as all images are viewed without the maker’s names or other detail at Stage 1.
After payment has been made and online registration completed, each applicant will be provided with a unique reference number in their confirmation email that will need to be included on the Work Submission Form and Work Labels at the longlist stage.
At the time of online registration, applicants are required to select their regional Collection Centre for the delivery of their drawings, and the collection of their drawings should it not be selected. Further details about Collection Centres and dates will be provided upon notification of the first stage results.
STAGE 2: SELECTION OF LONGLISTED WORKS & DELIVERY OF WORKS
The Selection Panel will review all drawings submitted for the Trinity Buoy Wharf Drawing Prize 2020 online and will longlist works to be delivered to Trinity Buoy Wharf in London for the final selection process. Entrants will be notified if their drawings are longlisted by 5pm on 25 June 2021.
If your work is longlisted, you will be notified of when and where to deliver it.
A Work Submission Form and Work Label must be completed, available on the Download/Links. Work labels should be completed and attached securely to the back top right hand corner of each work and the outside of any packaging.
Please note that there is no additional charge for use of the Collection Centres.
STAGE 3: NOTIFICATION OF THE FINAL DECISION OF THE SELECTION PANEL
All applicants will be informed by email of the outcome of the final Selection Process by 6pm on Wednesday 21 July 2021. The email will be from firstname.lastname@example.org. In addition, the Work Numbers of selected drawings will appear in the General Info section of this website.
Work Numbers can be found on the Submission Receipt, which will be received when drawings are handing in.
If email notification has not been received by 6pm on Wednesday 21 July 2021, or your Work Number does not appear on the list of selected works, your work has not been selected and will need to be collected from your nominated Collection Centre. If you do not receive an email or you are unable to view the accepted list online, please contact the Project Manager, Parker Harris, by telephone on 020 3653 0896 or by email at email@example.com
The selected exhibition will consist of works that in the opinion of the Selection Panel qualify as drawings. The decision of the Selection Panel is final and binding, and no correspondence will be entered into.
Unselected works will be available for collection from Trinity Buoy Wharf, London on Thursday 22 and Friday 23 July 2021, or from regional Collection Centres (the dates for regional returns will be given to you upon notification of results). Please note, works will not be wrapped after the selection process unless specific packing cases are provided.
